Alex Conway left this review about Bar 71

Brand new Micro pub on Haydn Road a 5 minute walk from Sherwood high street. As far as micro pubs go this one did not impress as the interior is mad made up of reclaimed wood that looks incredibly cheap. The bar is quite small with a mixture of bench and normal seating but has unfortunately fallen into the rap of trying to appeal to all patrons but ultimately failing at all of them. There are TV screens, music, and the bar sells lager, cider and spirits which takes it miles away from the traditional micro pub roots they initially became known for. Because of this it attracts a mismatch of customers, some who can be quite unruly and hard to escape from in such a small space. They have three hand pulls selling usually local beers but I didn't think their beer was kept all that good to be honest and lacked condition. They do sell some craft keg such as Beavertown and some German lagers. All in all a bit of a disappointment and an obvious strict business investment instead of a labour of love.
