UPDATE:
A change of hands on the bar and the real ale lines have now been removed and replaced by 3 x keg lines which serve three Rebellion ales from 22-pint boxes (IPA, Overthrow and Smuggler on this visit) at £4 a pint. Still pretty soulless although the jukebox has been removed. Now only handy for a swift half if watching the football or cricket on the playing fields out front or on the box inside.

The replacement building for the 60s-build Sports & Social Club, this was opened in early 2016 by former Spandau Ballet lead singer Tony Hadley and is a shared space between the parish council and sporting clubs which includes a bar open to non-members, open 7 days a week. Functional compared to its more cosier predessor, this comprises a rectangular room with bar at one end, two high tables with stools nearby, padded bench seating in one corner and a rectangular wooden table with chairs in the other, in the shade of a large flatscreen TV which is usually tuned into a sporting event. Patio doors lead to a largish concrete patio overlooking the playing fields. The bar serves XT4 and a national or Animal (XT offshoot) guest at £3.40 a pint - the cheapest in the village, although quality can be hit-and-miss. The bar is two-sided and also serves a function room at the back. Photos of local sporting teams adorn the walls, along with newer additions including a dartboard and jukebox, which at least break up the interior a bit, as it can feel a little like having a pint in a waiting room.
