An interesting conversion of a building with several levels, with an idiosyncratic exterior and a light-green painted interior that had the cool and the curves of a Spanish bodega. The various shelves, displaying empty bottles in a way that has been designed to signify and record recent developments in brewing, justify the name of this pub. It's all very nicely done, and this extends to the staff, with the manager displaying admirable knowledge and engagement with the business. After this paean of praise, it's disappointing to report that my half of Bass was only "ok" according to my notes made at the time. My fault for asking for an "ok" beer, I anticipate some saying, when I could have had something to get excited about from Pomona Island, Deya or Arbor. Or one of 14 keg beers! (They're listed on a blackboard.)

Despite the slight shortcomings from the beer, I had an enjoyable visit here. I didn't see a 10% Camra members discount advertised, but was offered it anyway, which saved me 20p. This pub's proximity to the railway station might make this a good stop on a train pub crawl. (There is a ramp from street level, but the entrance is not accessible to wheelchairs, according to WhatPub. The toilets are upstairs and I didn't see one that would be accessible.)
