Yet another micro in Skipton that doesn't open when it says it does. This is getting a bit annoying now. Supposed to open at 5 on a Thursday. In darkness at 9 and a closed sign right next to the opening times stating it should be open. Pathetic.

Micro, as in small, bar near the canal sadly a car park gets in the way of it being a canal side pub unlike its neighbour across the water. It’s an old stone built single storey building, the single room is done out in purple with a wooden bar at one end. Four pulls with beers from Roosters, Goose Eye and Wharfedale, one keg fount on the counter plus five taps on the back wall and a range of spirits; a blackboard advertises cocktails at £8 to £8.50 a shot. My beer was fine but a chap brought one back that was changed without question, so a big tick there. The minimalist decor is music oriented with a picture of Bowie and a couple of album covers plus other arty pics n stuff, the piped music is relentless and was mainly from the sixties when I dropped by, live music is also advertised. Edison bulbs and industrial lighting fixtures with a mix of bench seating and candle powered scaffolding tables as furnishing. There’s a nice outdoor area with heaters and covers which seems quite popular. Toilets unmarked but to right of counter through the sliding door.
