Real Ale Ray left this review about Up The Street

Rather a wasted journey on our recent Saturday afternoon visit. The pub did have three new chrome handpumps at the end of the bar, with no clips. The owner told us they had run out of beer and it was on the way in about an hour, if we wanted to call back. I asked was there any bottled beers or cans. He then looked in the fridge behind the bar and pulled out one bottle of Ringwood Boondoggle, which I didn't fancy. We later heard that evening in the Beer Street in Newcastle, that a couple had called in on Friday night and there was no cask ale on their pumps.
This is a one room pub, which was nicely fitted out, with the internal sandstone windows, taking pride of place. There was a couple of locals with a pitbull dog sat near the bar on our visit, who seemed harmless enough. There were two other pubs in the vicinity, but looking at the customers sitting outside, you definitely wouldn't venture inside.

Micropub which opened in April 2019. Three rotating cask ales available on handpump, plus, a good selection of real ciders.
