After the edgy feel of the Cork and Cage next door, this micro had a more anonymous, sedate feel. Matching furniture, painted walls. British Legion does City Centre Coffee house.

The drinks ranged seemed a little more conservative too. Oakham Citra, where next door they were on Vault City Apple Soor..

Fine, but won't last in the memory.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Wildcat

Rather anonymous modern bar in a row of small shops and takeaways, with a very dark façade and a plain café-like interior. However, once in, you find a buzz of conversation and a good selection of craft beers in different formats. BBF Delray Beach, Buxton Best Bitter and the more local Rise of the Holly King from Fownes (£4.20) were available from three of the five handpumps, eight keg taps on the bar-back, two KeyKeg from a portable unit on the counter and plenty of different cans in a pair of fridges. Overall, much better than it initially looks.

My first visit since they moved from down the road. Another decent place in this small area. A good selection of craft ales on. I went for Mosaic from Brew By Numbers which was excellent. Well worth a visit.

Modern looking place, which is billed as a micropub, but has more of the feel of a trendy bar.

It must be a popular place. We called ahead to check there was a table and eventually managed to book one for 10pm that evening.

Apparently they normally have 5 real ales, but on this occasion there were just the 2 - Roosters Highway Fifty One & Marble Extra Special Marble. The real cider was Hogan's Libertine.

Unlike most micropubs, the focus here appears to be on craft beer - Chapter Practicable and Useful, Brew by Numbers Mosaic Session, Nothing Bound All These Intersections & Pinegrove, Vibrant Forest Black Forest & Vault City Pomegranate Session Sour. A keg Hogan's French Revelation was also on.

Service wasn't the quickest. We had to go to the bar to pay, as we had a bus to catch. Not a bad place, but I'm not sure it warrants the jaunt away from the city centre and other drinking hubs in Birmingham.

Hats off to this young entrepreneur who started in a small retail unit further up the road. This new venture housed in a former curry house has a lot more space. The layout at these new premises, consists of a right hand side lobby entrance, leading into a large one room space with plenty of seating options. The colour scheme and design of the interior was all the work of the owner, which I thought was very trendy and retro in style. The bar area is positioned along the rear wall as you walk in and hosted 6 handpumps along the bar and a choice of 8 craft beers served from taps along the back wall of the bar. There was a choice of four cask beers on our Sunday evening visit plus one cider. The line up was Barleby's Dark Mild, Five Points Best, Mourne Mountains Mourne Gold, Wild Beer Co Early Doors and Barbourne Cider. This is an excellent place and well worth a visit.
