paulof horsham left this review about The Lantern

The micropub boom has obviously given many would-be landlords and landladies the confidence to enter the pub game, no doubt helped by there being no need to boost the flagging profits of the Pubcos. The Lantern, then, would seem to be influenced by the movement but would be given short shrift by diehards. I mean, there's Guinness on the bar, and a couple of macro lagers, as well as Strongbow! One of the fonts is, however, given over to local brewer Hepworth for their Blonde lager. On opening night, the two handpumps were dispensing beers from nearby Greyhound Brewery.

The new pub occupies a site that has been unoccupied for a few years. Inside, there's seating around the perimeter and, unfortunately, some stools at the bar. There were a few hiccups on opening night and a few short-served pints, but this is a worthwhile addition to the pub scene in Pulborough, which has suffered several closures over the last couple of decades.
