Blue Scrumpy left this review about Latitude 48

Modern bar which was the busiest of the Barnstaple pubs and bars I visited, being populated by a predominantly youthful crowd. As you enter the bar, there is a pool table near the entrance doorway, which is positioned rather awkwardly for further progress if somebody is playing.

Having negotiated the pool game, I proceeded to the bar, which can be found midway along the left-hand wall. Three handpulls sat unused at one end of the bar. The keg choice was Beavertown Neck Oil & Gamma Ray, Winkleigh Sam's Cloudy Crush, Exmoor Gold & Cider, Gipsy Hill Bandit, Fierce Beer Weegie Juice & Salt Loom.

Beyond the bar also on the left-hand side is an open kitchen advertising American-style food such as chicken wings, ribs, burgers and the like.

Not really my kind of place. My hope for a real ale was thwarted. But at least this place was a little livelier than elsewhere.
