Cosy multi-room pub set in a grand end of terrace property that is very easily missed in passing, especially in the hours of darkness – look out for the etched glass pane with the pub name above the door. You enter to a corridor with a few doors off to either side, with the bar through the first door on the left. This is a bare boarded space with an angular banquette running around the left, right and front window bay sides of the room with chairs in support. The servery is to the rear and has a plain modern counter fronting a bare brick bar back under a hop-lined canopy, with a large decorative blackboard to one side. Arty prints line the walls and help make the place feel a touch more homely. A smaller room to the right of the corridor offers more seating in a slightly more disjointed space and there appears to be a larger room to the rear of the building, although I didn’t bother to properly explore back here. There’s a unisex toilet on the ground floor which has been decorated with eye-catching flamingo print wallpaper.
On the bar, cask ales amounted to Derby Brewing Nailed It, Leatherbritches Ashbourne IPA and Hairy Helmet and Blue Monkey Guerrilla Stout. The latter was served to me by a friendly landlady and set me back £4.00 for a good quality pint. There were a few punters in on a Saturday evening, but slit between the various seating areas so that it felt a bit dead compared to some of the other pubs I visited around town that evening.
This is a decent enough pub that perhaps suffers a little from being out on a limb somewhat and therefore not particularly conducive to adding to a crawl. I found it to be quite welcoming and with some good beer to go at in comfortable surroundings, and would recommend to anyone who happens to find themselves in this part of town.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Creaky Floorboard

The most domestic of micro-pubs, that could very easily be missed even when passing close by. Comprises two rooms, one on each side of the entrance corridor, and both with unusually high ceilings for an end-of-terrace house. Five handpumps on the compact counter to the left as you enter, offering the 'house' Nailed It from Derby (£3.40, and excellent) and other real ales in different styles from Navigation, Peakstones, Blue Monkey and Falstaff.

This micropub is housed in the owners ground floor two front rooms. You enter the pub through the main front door, into a short lobby with a very striking original mosaic floor. A small bar area and lounge was positioned on the left hand side with a further lounge area on the right hand side of the entrance. The lounge area on the right was quite striking in its decor, whereas the bar area was more traditional, plus there was a log burning stove. Five ales on handpump, Hartshorns Ignite, Derby Brewing Co Nailed It, Peakstones Oblivion, Durham Dark Angel and Oakham Citra.
