Simple shop conversion to a micropub, with typically limited opening hours. I tried to visit here just over a month ago, but returned on foot once again this week. Opening times are displayed on the door and online. It just didn't fit in with my itinerary last time.

Unusually and until our arrival, all customers were women. Even our server was female. The interior is bright and airy. Dogs are welcome. Toilets were clean. Being a sunny day, we chose to take a seat outside on pavement tables to the front.

The two Parker brewery beers were Viking Blonde & Commando Session. Guests were Kirkby Lonsdale Stanley's & Lister's Bitter. With no dark beers and no cider, a little variation wouldn't go amiss. Otherwise, a decent place that is a little off the beaten track.

As noted it's by the lawnmower museum and sort of halfway between Birkdale and Southport stations. I found it very friendly and the beers from Parker Brewery were acceptable. The smallish bar is a bit thin but there are a few benches outside. Worth the walk from either station? I'd say yes.

your typical shop conversion ale bar run by the Parker brewery - a bit awkward to find from Southport or Birkdale but just aim for the Lawnmower Museum (yes really) and you should see it. it’s a relaxed and friendly place serving four real ales plus lagers, wines and spirits. The chippy next door is good too.
