One main room with further rooms to the rear and right. Bar to the right with two hand pumps (weak) and several craft options including Jaipur, which I, of course, had.

This is a spacious bar compared to it's sister pub on Fossgate. An eclectic mix of tables, chairs, comfy low sofas and high tables and chairs. Massive floor to ceiling girly friendly windows. Both handpumps pulling beer on our Monday, late afternoon visit and my Jolly Sailor Selby Pale was in good nick and Ms CAMRA thought the Tempranillo red wine was good as well. Quite a few punters dotted about, but interestingly, despite this being a "Social" none of them were talking to each other and all were engrossed in their laptops or phones. I think we were the only ones drinking alcohol as well. It's OK and was a useful pitstop on our way back to the hotel.

I remember this as the Sony Shop full of aspirational products now a cafe bar with aspirational millennials freeloading the wi-fi. Usual stuff furniture including the perhaps obligatory upended cable drum, otherwise wood and metal stools, leather sofas and garden centre chairs. Beerwise there were two pulls with reversed clips (it had been Jolly Sailor stout and pale when on), plus an horseshoe with 10 taps overweighted to the plus 5% end. The big clear windows have a nice view of Micklegate Bar. Apparently some jolly important, if slightly snobbish, railway museum people drop in for cups of tea. Appears to be run by those responsible for the Fossgate Social.
