Bill’s Bar, not to be confused with the national bar and restaurant chain, is a large L-shaped bar that had four other customers during a recent Tuesday evening visit. Two of these were young men who were watching the football in a seating area at the rear to the right of the bar counter. The other two were student aged girls who were playing pool in an area in the front of the bar where table football is also available. There was some dance background music playing and a test your strength boxing machine is found in a small raised arcade area by the gents toilets. The barman was polite, but unsurprisingly only standard and premium keg was available. I’m at least 20 years too old for this place so I’ll not be returning.

A modern bar in a pretty naff mid-80’s building, aimed at the youngsters. Lots of open space inside, a big telly to the left with the football on. Some locals chucking ping pong balls into pint glasses via bouncing off some drums, was assured this is a pastime but it’s the first time I have seen it. One ale, ‘Bills Bitter’, brewed by who knows, which was in a pitiful state. One for fizz drinkers, really, but at least the barmaid was friendly.
