Located just off of the popular Corn Street strip, I was actually on my way to check out Brozen next door when I spotted this. I had previously been under the impression that it was just a coffee shop, and whilst is certainly does operate as that during the day, it also has a full licence and a small range of draft drinks, with the friendly barmaid informing us that they are open until 11:00pm.

Internally it’s all one long, and fairly narrow room with some sort of plywood boards on the floor and pale blue paintwork on the walls. Seating was mostly benches fashioned from rough planks of wood and looking very homemade, as well as a few planks suspended from frames by a rope. So swings basically, presumably in a nod to the pub’s name. There were also a couple of old bicycles around, some old coffee sacks nailed to the walls, plenty of fairy lights in the window and an extensive selection of board games. A couple of punters were engaged in a game of chess. As befits it’s alter ego as a coffee shop, a tempting looking selection of cakes were on the bar counter.

There were no real ales on tap unfortunately, with a board listing the current keg choice as Hop Hand Fallacy and Summer ’18 No 3. The solitary cider was Orchard Pig Reveller. Whilst not a pub in the traditional sense, I actually quite liked the chilled out vibe in here and would happily return.
