Visited last month. Looks a fair way out from the town centre but the walk wasn't bad at all. Six hand pulls at the bar, with five of those in active service at the time of my visit. Three of the available ales were from Wily Fox. Several keg taps on the back wall in addition to the real ales.

This is a pleasant place, semi industrial but comfortable. Outdoor seating for those so inclined. There is an upstairs area that I did not investigate.

Overall, this is worth a walk from the town centre.

Modern bar done rather well in a quasi-industrial style; tile and laminate flooring, exposed brick. Space broken up by a safety glass divider, unusual but effective. Downside is that it's mainly high tables and stools which are never comfortable though the raised area with nice leaded windows was the premier spot to sup and fortunately we were in early to grab it. Five cask on over six pumps, majoring on Wily Fox. My Crafty Fox was in good nick (NBSS 3.5) and the Temper Sinter Stout was also decent (3) alongside some ciders and craftykeg. Complementary hair care products in the gents was an unusual touch. I quite enjoyed the place as something a bit different but whether I’d be prepared to schlep out this far next time is one to weigh-up. GBG’23 listed. 7.5

it says 'Swinley' on the sign so i'm adding it to that area. a new bar opened in a former cafe near the Brocket Wetherspoons in the increasingly trendy north of Wigan. it's nice though it does still have the feeling of a cafe inside. 6 real ales (my stout from Durham was ok) and no 'normal' keg offers, just crafty taps on the walls. this does include Peroni so you can safely bring your lager lout pals here. the owners are lovely and deserve your support so come here rather than the Spoons. you know you want to anyway..
