Steve C left this review about Brew Chimp

Brew Chimp is a small bar with seating under an awning out front and L-shaped seating inside where a bar counter sits on the right rear wall. Alongside lots of craft keg were four hand pumps that were drawing Tiny Rebel’s Cwtch Gold, Acorn Brewery’s Blonde and Cigarettes & Alcohol alongside Brew Chimp’s own Session. I went for the C&A, which had turned so I took it back to the bar, on which the barman disappeared out the back for about five minutes. He then came back and took the C&A off, asking what I wanted instead. I went for the Blonde, which still wasn’t great, but I decided to make do. I’ve no idea why he didn’t serve me before pissing off out the back, and also no idea why there was no acknowledgement that he had just served me a pint of murk. I left thinking that he was a miserable arsehole. I’ll not be returning due to the welcome and the quality of ale.

I had been looking forward to trying Brew Chimp and a crawl round Urmston on Saturday evening allowed the dream to become a reality. I was concerned this was going to be a tiny micropub and would be too crowded to be enjoyable, but I am pleased to report that there is more space than I expected and we had no issue in getting a seat at the time of our visit.

At the bar are four hand pulls for cask beer, helpfully lined up at the end of the bar so you can see them on your approach. I think there was a house beer, Beartown Peach Melbear and 4T's APA, though I can't remember what was on the fourth pump. The Peach Melbear was £3.30 a pint, and very pleasant. There are also six keg taps on the back wall behind the bar but I didn't pay too much attention to these and can't remember what was on offer.

Nice place, and one I would be happy to return to.
