Old Boots left this review about Al's Star Bar

Al’s Star Bar at 24 Bingley Rd has closed and moved up the road to number 93 Bingley Rd opposite The Rosse. A bar called The Hop Star Bar & Beer Store now operates here. Probably with the same front & rear room setup as previously the short counter in the front has three pulls, two from Saltaire and one from Bosuns in Wetherby, not outstanding quality maybe a generous 2, no way vinegar but not exactly peak of the cellarman’s art. Fridge of bottles and cans not looking hugely interesting, brewery advertising sign decor. I was the only bloke in the place but it has only a small telly and there were some terribly important World Cup games on that day, - apparently.

A newly opened bar on the main road through Saltaire. It's an eclectic grunge bar with loads of David Bowie stuff including single & album covers along with several other 80's bands. The bar looks "distressed" whether this is fake or not is difficult to tell. There are several keg options and a solitary handpump that was selling Robinsons Dizzy Blonde. I just had a half, which was just as well as the beer was only just drinkable. Loved all the Bowie stuff, but the bar, not so much.
