An awful cocktail bar/lounge, a single bar with no real ale, in a former shop premises next door to Furlongs. There is a piano in the bar and they host regular events such as Ladies’ Nights and private parties. I wouldn’t exactly call it a garden, but there is a small paved yard behind with a barbecue in the middle, a raised (by about 6 inches) decked stage at the back and a few tables and chairs. The long bar has a counter at one end and a lounge area with council house sofas at the other. It is loud, crowded and sweaty. The name and appearance aspire to a level of sophistication it just can’t deliver, and other than listening to the occasional musician who has risen above Grade 3 by the age of 27, I see no reason to come here rather than any one of the decent pubs in this street.
