I wasn't expecting another Sheffield Tap, and clearly this is not. Cambridge is not the railway hub that Sheffield is, and it's geared for customers that might still be working even though they're on their way home, with charging points at every booth. Some interesting beers though, and my half of Barsham Norfolk Topper was in good condition despite being mistakenly poured as a pint and then tipped into a smaller glass. A handy facility rather than a destination pub, I reckon.

An interesting conversion of a station building, with initially a very high ceiling section ,a central bar with high tables opposite and then a mezzanine area with a spiral staircase to the loos and more discrete seating sections on the ground floor. There are various railway signs dotted about,as you might expect but it's popular with a younger crowd rather than trainspotters.
There are a lot of keg taps but I didn't spot too much of interest. There are 5 handpumps offering on my trip Smash Chevalier,Adnam's Try Umph and Lighthouse ,Barsham's Golden Goose IPA,and Nene Valley Dick's Extraordinary Bitter (NBSS 2.5,a bit disappointing for a GBG 2020 listed pub).
Fine for a quick one if you've missed a train but there are better real ale outlets close by.

Conversion of old station buildings into a trendy craft bar. which has clearly had some money spent on it though possibly not wisely. The interior is a mixture of dark colours and bilious green, while the bar area seems rather oversized for the room, leaving a rather cluttered feel. A strange arrangement of pillars at the end partly screens a kitchen servery. Outside at the front are some tables overlooking the station square, which are probably nice in good weather. Assorted craft beers are on offer, mainly on keg or in bottle and tin, but there are 5 handpumps serving ales from the craft end of the market. Perhaps ok when quiet but I was not hugely impressed.

Adjacent to the train station and just along from the out rider bus pick up to Newmarket races. A characterful interior serves 16 keg and 5 real ales.
