Located just beyond the housing developments of Harrogate and still in a rural setting for now, although housing creeps ever closer, this is a much extended old stone building in GK's Flaming Grill chain, complete with a Wacky Warehouse next door for the rugrats. Now it's weathered in a bit, much of the multi-area interior does not actually feel unpleasant and even seems quite pubby in places, including one part with a pool table. Being a quiet weekday afternoon probably helped. Sadly just Abbot on handpump, in acceptable condition.

A Greene King place with a Wacky Warehouse attached. The pub bit is a fairly dreadful modern abortion with (probably) fake beams everywhere, although some of the building is fairly old. Stood at the bar I saw a few shadowy figures of bar staff but no service. Eventually an old bloke shambled out looking and acting remarkably like Les the seedy landlord from “Men Behaving Badly”. Six pulls, two with cider and one with average Daleside, average even for Daleside, the rest were unclipped. Novelty value only.
