Aqualung . left this review about The King Doniert (JD Wetherspoon)

This is a new build Spoons constructed on the site of a former garage. It opened on Tuesday 19th June and I came here the following Friday. As I approached it looked like it had some sort of roof terrace that seemed to be covered in netting. I didn't investigate any further.
The downstairs room was a big disappointment, it's a large open plan room with a low ceiling that looked like it could have been a converted shop rather than built from scratch. It's roughly L shaped and has fairly typical newer furnishings including no number on the empty table that I found. There is a patio on the left.
The beer choice from the twelve hand pumps was nothing short of pathetic with the JDW Trio Of Doom, Oakham JHB, Spitfire and Hobgoblin all doubled up. I ordered a JHB (£2.29) which they annoyingly took the money for first but then the hapless barman discovered wasn't on despite being displayed twice and remaining so. I decided I wanted a refund due to their stupid bar rules and got it after a while by which time the queue was starting to considerably increase.
I went on to their cans of beer after that but did later ask if they did a real guest cider and was referred to some local keg rubbish. Given that their current menu lists Guinness and John Smiths Smooth Crap as "Real Ales", this was probably an easy mistake to make.
Later I ordered a Pizza, despite not having a table number. This took ages to arrive so I asked about it and it suddenly appeared cold!
To provide the worst Spoons experience I've had for years is quite an achievement on only the fourth day of trading. It avoids the score of shame for the irony of that.
It transpired after I got back that the police were called on the Saturday evening following my visit due to a bouncer being attacked, nice!
The King Doughnut is a very apt alternative name for this one.
