not the most promising exterior but inside it's a pleasant and surprisingly traditional pub. the trade seems to be largely mature students and university staff. now long established in the GBG and four hand pumps dispense rotating cask ales of excellent quality. this is well worth a trip out of the city centre, but be aware that it only opens in evenings.
