Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Thirsty Giraffe
Light modern bar that thankfully hasn't gone completely down the craft keg route, with four handpumps standing defiantly on the counter. These were dispensing Big Bog WPA, Beartown Créme Bearlee, Nene Valley Big Bang Theory and Neptune Sea Monkeys (£1.60, half). The landlord is welcoming and knowledgeable chap, and this really help make our visit here a pleasure (and the 'elephant in the room' is, of course, the camelopard).

Not too bad a place and better than its competitor opposite. The 4 handpulls were Black Hole Super Nova, Lincoln Green Tuck, Reunion Opening Gambit and Sonnet 43 Seraphim. There was no World Cup bumpf dotted around, which made a change. The giraffe model to the side of the bar was now looking a bit tired.

We were in Newcastle for two nights and visited this bar on the Thursday, so we missed it out during the PuG crawl. It's very café like with simple tables and chairs along with the rather large giraffe. Longer descriptions are given in some of the reviews below.. It was very quiet during our late afternoon visit, with only another 2 punters in the bar. The staff were friendly though and my pint of Neptune Sea Monkeys was in excellent nick. We'll be calling in again next time we're in Newcastle.

A bright exterior, with plain and etched glass, opens into a room in white and green with a side bar. A few pirture, but giraffe models and giraffes painted on the walls brighten the place - well, what did you expect? Music was at a decent level and the TV not on. A few locals graced the bar and service was very good. A mix of keg with four real ales - I had the Beartown Creme Bearlee, which was very good. I would more than happily return here.

An excellent line up of four handpulled beers on our visit. The owner was welcoming and chatty, this included the bar staff and a couple of fellow drinkers at the bar. The interior is bright and modern with plenty of ample seating space. I really liked the giraffe theme to this micro and forgot to ask how they came up with this branding, maybe it was a trip to Kenya or a day trip to a local Zoo. The steep hike up to the toilet was fine going up, but quite a tricky climb on the way back down after an excellent pint of Neptune Sea Monkeys.

This has been well described below and the feature that stood out for me was the very silly giraffe model. There was some music playing but it wasn't obtrusive and the large TV on one wall was off. It's probably on the larger side for a micropub and was comfortably furnished.
By an extraordinary coincidence the beers on were exactly the same as listed below. I went for the Neptune Sea Monkeys (£3.20) which was excellent.
I thought this one was well worth a visit.

I really liked this micro pub,opposite the 10 Green Bottles and in another shop conversion.The giraffe theme has been incorporated in many artifacts,and punters are encouraged to have a photo taken besides the model giraffe.Elsewhere there are functional tables and chairs,and a small bar with a very friendly welcome from the young owner,who was a mine of information both about his beer selection and the local real ale scene.The interior is not as flash as over the road,and this place had the clear vibe of a micro pub with good banter from the other customers.
4 handpumps offered a good mix of styles with ,on my trip,Big Bang Theory West Coast Pale Ale,Big Bog Welsh Pale Ale,Neptune Sea Monkeys and a very good Beartown Creme Bearlee,the product of a new brewer at Beartown.There were also four interesting keg beers and I would most certainly visit again and spend longer in here next time .Top pub.
