This is a good looking brick building, a shop conversion to a micropub which has been done in excellent taste, with just the right amount of bare brick showing. The bar has five hand pumps, with one cider and a range of four real ales; the co-owner told me the policy is to have four different styles on the bar (see photos). My Dusk Best Bitter 4.5% was very good: a malty, hoppy brew from Sunbeam Ales, a mini-microbrewery in Leeds; well-kept and served with care; drunk with appreciation. I was told that they get through between nine and 10 barrels per week (they're open all seven days) - the beers are hardly on before they're off, and so never have a chance to go off (if you see what I mean). I'll be back. (The pub is a brief walk from the station, so getting off a train and going back for the next one an hour later would be a plan.)
