Set back from the road and sandwiched between two retail units on Selsey High Street, I walked past the Hopp Inn before realising I was too high in the street numbers and acknowledging my mistake. A generous beer patio out front which catches the afternoon rays forms the entrance to this 'large' micro as PoH describes below. A squarish room with bar to the left and cool room to the left of that, there's a pool table and raised seating comprising three tables and stools. This ticks a lot of boxes, offering 3 x cask on my visit and around 5 x keg. Cask offerings were Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter, Thornbridge Crackendale and a nice-but-hazy Vibrant Forest Leyama – £4.90 for a pint, but reduced to £4.41 with 10% off due to a 'happy hour' discount scheme. Lots on and lots to offer: a Quiz night, toasties, whelks and cockles, plus pooch and kid-friendly. Top-notch staff too make this the de factor go-to in this 'near-the-sea' seaside town.

This is a larger micro than most I've visited. A large room hosts several tall large tables along with 3 at a more regular size and height. There's a few more in the space out front.

The cool room housing the beer and the fridge for cans and bottles are, unusually, in the opposite corner to the bar counter. There's a few keg taps in the general area as well.

That cool room was offering 3 ales including Oakham Citra & Harvey's Sussex. I opted for a pale & hoppy beer, who's name escapes me, but I can say that it hit the spot, as did the Belgian Wheat beer that I also sampled. Cider is also an option for those so inclined.

The service was friendly and the beer in good nick. The Crab Pot is worth a visit.
