Will Larter left this review about The Eight-Foot Way

This is a new build Marstons pub, branded "Generous George", and aimed at families of young children and people who like eating out after a shopping trip. I just called in for a half so that I could write a review for this website, so I'm obviously not their target demographic. Having locked my bike to a Sheffield stand on the edge of the car park I entered the pub to find a row of six hand pumps. On closer inspection, only three beers were available, with 61 Deep amd EPA both "coming soon". I made my choice from Pedigree, Ringwood 49er and Hobgoblin. My 49er was in good condition, though it's an unprepossessing beer. I looked around while writing a few cryptic notes; suprised to see several children of school age when it was well before "schools out" time at 2:15pm on a weekday - there's an ice cream counter to accommodate them. As previously stated, chain pubs like this, however well run, are not the sorts of places to float the boats of people like me. Having said which, it actually wasn't too bad.
