A cosy little cafe/bar/bistro, the sort of place you might ignore except they have 4 decent ales on (TT Boltmaker, Dissolution IPA, Tiny Rebel Baby Cakes and Bristol Set Free). This is topped off with extremely enthusiastic staff and a large tabled patio area to the back, although admittedly prices are at the top end for the area. I might have to come back to check.

I would have said this was a cafe, but after observing all the cakes I then noticed quite a decent display of pump clips, so perhaps it's a pub after all. There are four hand pumps on the bar - again, not many cafes have this - with Boltmaker and Jaipur balanced with two unknown beers from less well known but local-ish breweries. I took my half of Nomadic Ernest (not as interesting as I had hoped, but in good condition) and sat down. Whereupon I was suddenly in a cafe again. Maybe it becomes more publike in the evening - at the time of my 3pm visit it definitely didn't feel much like a pub. (As I was leaving I saw a man in a Six Poor Folk T-shirt who turned out to be the owner, so I asked him why the O in Folk was the Scandinavian Ø. Apparently the business occupying these premises before he set up his pub/cafe had a Scandinavian theme, so he decided to retain it.)

Quite like this - almost a micro pub but in a very pubby building - thats a C15th Almhouse. GBG 2020 edition.

I had a Jaipur at the start of my week in Yorkshire which was bogging. This place showed what a great pint it can be.

Room on the right as you enter. Bar to the rear right with four real ales of reasonable strength. Outside seating area which we used. Worth coming back to but it was quite expensive.

An ex-cafe now trading as a pub, it has a two level floor with the counter on a higher level by the side door, there are four pumps of decent locals Timothy Taylor Landlord (the only regular beer) plus one each from Vocation, Roosters and a foreigner from Wimbledon, some good (keykeg)as opposed to evil kegs and most beers were of a respectable strength, apart from the soft southern stuff. All are listed on a blackboard by the counter which is updated unlike some places. There's a varied selection of bottles and cans in some fridges opposite the counter. Wooden floors and leather bench seating in the lower section apart from two armchairs by the wood burning gas fire. A couple of barrels used as tables complete things. Pleasant landlord who is obviously keen on his beer. There's an upstairs room but not explored by me.
