Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Bow-Legged Beagle

This is the original version of the Bow-Legged Beagle. There are now 2 other branches on the Wirral and I believe a fourth is opening soon.

Situated in an area with plenty of pubs and bars, this is probably the best of them. It's a bright and airy micropub selling a good mix of real ales and craft beers. I only had time for a swift one before catching another train. I tried the Beartown Hazelnut Mild. Other cask options were Coach House Blueberry & Farrier, Neptune Ukrainian Golden Amarillo & Oaks Amarillo. Craft beers were Pentrich Happy In Sunburst & Heavy Glimmer, Vault City The Muffin Man & Cocotella, Chapter Steadfast Companions, SALT Loom & Lilley's Apples & Pears.

I was extremely tempted to try the Cocotella, a 10% hazelnut pastry stout, which seemed to be the obvious next step after the hazelnut mild. But it would have meant me missing a train. Still the best pub in New Brighton, in my opinion.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Bow-Legged Beagle

I really enjoyed my visit to this micro, the barman was down to earth, chatty and welcoming, along with a couple of customers sitting at the bar. Four ales on handpump, Salopian Symphony, Salopian Gold, George Wright Mild and Hogwild APA. I went for the Salopian Symphony and George Wright Mild, which was outstanding. The interior had petrol blue painted walls, tables constructed from scaffold boards and pallets. A large timber cable drum on its side, made another drinking table in the centre of the room. The bar area was constructed from pine with the back bar wall also cladded in pine boards.

Al Bundy left this review about The Bow-Legged Beagle

A micropub situated in a former corner shop. The L-shaped interior is very woody with wooden tables, wooden floor and a wooden bar. 4 handpumps on the bar with 4 taps on the wall behind the bar. Beers today were all local ales: Peerless Oatmeal Stout and Lottie Dodd, Westwood Best Bitter, Neptune Triton. Its a pleasant, friendly place.
