This pub is obviously for Owls fans only on match days, but anyone else the rest of the time. Though to be honest I'm not sure why you would want to. To be fair, it's a very publike sort of place, despite being underneath the south stand of Hillsborough stadium (turn left down some steps after crossing the footbridge), with the normal tables, chairs and even settles that you'd expect to find in a regular pub. The lad running the bar told me proudly that they did the whole transformation in just 10 days, with a little help from Thornbridge. There are four hand pumps, with Thornbridge beers on, The Wednesday doubled, plus Jaipur and Crackendale, with loads more of their beers on keg fonts. The Wednesday was very like Stones Bitter: faintly malty and faintly citrussy, but in good condition. But £4 a pint for a 4% ordinary bitter is not my idea of good value in Sheffield. They're trying to encourage people to treat it like a pub, with a quiz (currently Wednesdays, but may change), open mic night (Thursday ditto) and of course football on TV even when it doesn't involve the Owls. On match days, away fans who get as far as the door are likely to be ejected, and even home fans will have to queue, as there's a limit of 200 customers at any one time and bouncers on the door to count you in and out!

Brand new pub at the football ground ( South Stand ) replacing The Sheridan Suite. Will be open seven days a week from 12 pm till 11pm and not just on matchdays. Thornbridge Brewery beers will be served. Will be open for the first time this Saturday, before the Hull City match. See SWFC Website for further information. It will be open to members to the public ( ie - not just SWFC Season Ticket holders ) and I consider that it meets the criteria for inclusion on Pubs Galore
