Real Ale Ray left this review about The Old House

Harts Brewery tap, this thatched building dates from the 1600's and features internal stone walls, which are now painted white, original oak beams and a leaded glass front bay window. The floor looked slightly out of place with modern grey tiles. The bar situated along the back wall had an oak counter, made up from a single piece of timber and the front of the bar had rough cut oak planks, which depicted the carpenters inscribed logo just below the counter. Polished brass wall and ceiling lamps around the lounge area were also an added feature. The furniture was a mix of pine and oak tables and chairs.
Six handpumps, with five in use serving all Harts beers, all priced at £3.30 a pint. We went for the house beer and Munch Oat, which were in excellent condition. The young staff were very friendly and chatty.

Thuck Phat left this review about The Old House

The first of Hart’s wholly owned outlets in Wellingborough where they also have a brewery tap.
This is an attractive, traditional boozer with white painted stone walls, black beams and rustic furniture inside.
The young staff were friendly although there was some trouble with pouring our pints due to inexperience and a lively barrel.
Beers on were Moorhouses White Witch alongside Hart No 3, Hart House Beer and an outstanding Hart 1833 IPA as well as a cider.
With the chance of 1833 being on I’d always put my head around the door.

Bucking Fastard left this review about The Old House

Recently opened, this small pub looks like a cafe from the outside with a lino type flooring, pine furniture and light pastel shades. However the bar gives the welcome sight of 6 handpumps and it operates as the tap for Hart Family Brewing who own the pub.On my trip the ale choice was Hart No.3,House Beer and an excellent 1833 IPA with a guest in Moorhouses White Witch and a real cider.
The building is old, with a low beamed ceiling. There is an upstairs room, used for functions and possibly as an overflow, while there are a few benches in a courtyard where the loos are situated. No TV or modern distractions.
It is small and could be described as a micro pub, although it has a more cosmopolitain feel than many micros that I have visited.I will most certainly visit again as I am a fan of Hart ales, and their best offering was on tap on my visit.Don't miss this one if visiting Wellingborough.
