Blue Scrumpy left this review about Sankey's Tap House

Not being able to access the Forum here for some unknown reason, I'm unable to register the name change for this one. However, this micropub is now called Vintage Liquid.

It is a simple, single room micropub with the bar at the rear right-hand side. There are 4 handpulls, which were dispensing Purple Moose Elderflower Ale, Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild, Abbeydale Absolution & Castle Rock Screech Owl. The real cider was SeaCider Mandarin, a new one for me.

We indulged in a couple of bags of snacks. Crisps here are currently some very unusual flavours, such as pheasant or wild boar. I chose the pork scratching flavour crips, which were basically smoky bacon in a different guise.

The barman was friendly, but there was very little atmosphere, with only 2 other customers present. The pub doesn't sound as if it has changed much since it was called Sankey's.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Sankey's Tap House

End-of-terrace, shop-conversion micro-pub sub-divided into a small seating area at the front and the bar with a few more tables further back. Four real ales on handpump - S43 Abolition, Mallinson's Has it all Gone Feral?, Beowulf Black & Blueberry (£3.20) and Cameron's Spinnaker - plus Wye Valley's keg Fandango and Wholesome Stout together with ABK Lager and Hell.

Soup Dragon left this review about Sankey's Tap House

As usual, the exterior of this micropub is fairly bland brick, with large windows for light and a little more aesthetic quality. The interior is open plan, although the room is near bisected by a partition wall. The place as a whole has very mixed seating (sofa to stools) and mixes green with brick effect wallpaper and stags feature also in the decor and pictures. Pump clips also cover part of the walls. There was a TV but it wasn't on and there was no music. Service was very friendly as it always is and there is a mixed clientele - as they do German lager and gin. Four changing real ales (ciders from cartons) - i have never had an off beer yet. Yesterday the Kelham Island Kingston and the Church End Kane is Able were spot on. Visited a number of times and will continue to do so.
