E TA left this review about Inn the Square

Originally half of a coaching inn called The Swan, the pub was briefly a restaurant called Skittles before it suffered a major fire. The other half of the building is a more formal restaurant. Now substantially renovated, it is primarily a B&B and restaurant. Entered through the original inn gate, the main bar area is on the ground floor. There are exposed timbers, an inglenook fireplace with a woodburner and a bar counter. Up the stairs is a long function room through which the toilets are reached. This room is also used for the Sunday carvery. Staff were very friendly and helpful, but they were somewhat put-upon by many of the entitled, ignorant churls who were dining. Other food on offer is of the gastro variety and is not cheap. The wine list was disappointing, but there were 2 ales on, well kept and enjoyable. These were Otter and Exmoor Ale. I'd quite like to try the B&B sometime, and it's worth dropping in for a swift pint when passing.
