Taphouse is a shop converted bar, or micropub as they now seem to be called. The small footprint dictates that there is minimal seating, I recall only four tables. The bar counter in the left rear corner supports six hand pumps which were drawing five ales I’d not seen before and a Lilley’s cider. I went for a pint of Escape Brewery’s Moonlight Flit, which was a decent chocolate stout. An ever changing cask range is evident by the rear wall that is covered with old pump clips. They’ll soon have to start sticking them to the brick patterned wallpaper. Worth a look.

A pleasant micropub on Atherton's main street. A single room downstairs, but there are another 2 small rooms upstairs. 5 ales and a real cider available. My pint from Bingley Brewery was in good nick. The guy behind the bar was friendly once I'd got him talking. A must visit for cask ale lovers in Atherton.

Friendly micropub with a couple of cask beers available yesterday. Our Prospect Silver Tally was fine. There were a few craft beers on as well.

What looks like a new micropub this is, like most micros, worth a visit. As you would expect, its a small single room with the bar in the rear left corner. Three table in the middle and stools and shelving along the left and right walls. 5 handpumps on the bar with Coach House Blueberry, Brakespeare Bitter, Cumberland and Marston's EPA. Granted its not the best selection for a micro but hopefully its usually more adventurous on other occasions. 6 taps for fizzy stuff too.
