Sketchy part of town. Its been a while since I have seen a car with its window freshly smashed in. The must have left something on display, as car stereo theft ain't a thing any more.

Industrial unit location, with some bench seating and a pool table. Interesting beers served by knowledgeable staff - as you would expect from a tap room. Most were £5 a pint. In the Good Beer Guide 2022.

Excellent music choice. I had to stay until the Nine Inch Nails track had completed.

Could tie in with a few more in the area. As long as you walk in pairs. And go on the train.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Burning Soul Taproom

Brewery and tap room located in the usual sort of anonymous industrial estate unit. There are a few canteen-style tables in front of the bar counter (behind which lies the brew plant), plus a couple of tables out in the yard. With nine of the ten taps on the bar-back in use (plus a handpump used occasionally), there was an excellent range of interesting styles available. I went for the new Green Hop IPA (£5.00) but could easily have gone for any of the others. NB - The apparently keg beers are actually all KeyKeg, so real ale.

The Burning Soul Brewery currently only opens on a Friday and Saturday.

We arrived mid-afternoon on Saturday to find a couple of spare tables inside. Further tables outside can also be used.

As can be seen from the picture, the Brewery is located in an industrial unit in a fairly desolate part of Hockley. The guy behind the bar was friendly and welcoming.

One ale is served with a handpull. This was their Tonka Bean Breakfast Stout. Further ales were KeyKeg - Fair Dinkum DIPA, Mango Modi, Pulling Down The Sun, Kviek Pale, Rock & Soul Pale Ale, Mount Olympus & Ice Cream Pale. A guest ale was available. This was Fixed Wheel Blackheath Stout.

Well worth seeking out.

One of the new generation of tap houses, a basic bar within an industrial unit, slightly off the beaten track and currently not a pleasant walk at night. Functional and provides a selection of their keg beers (they do brew cask as well). Pool table.

Limited opening hours.
