Real Ale Ray left this review about Barrel & Bean

This was a former Sunbed shop, which turned into a micropub last year and was the first micro in Sutton In Ashfield. This a one roomed pub with a central door entrance with large windows either side of the door way, each with some stained glass running along the top. There was also a small bar found over in the left hand corner, which had a timber counter and a luminous turquoise coloured bar front.
The pub had plenty of seating, which was a mix of some bench seating along the walls and a couple of settees in the window space and tables and chair taking up the middle space. T and G panelling and shelving was found around the two side walls, which was painted in green with burgundy painted walls above. There was also a good sized patio area found along the side.
Three ales on handpump and two ciders, so we went for the Blue Monkey Infinity and Oakham Inferno, their third ale was Castle Rock Screech Owl. There was also a Fosters tap in here, as the owner is partial to it. You will also find a collection of cobs, pork pies and cake.
One of the bas staff brought us over a bowl of peanuts, which was a nice touch and when leaving thanked us for visiting.
