The Riverstation is a modern bar that has its name suggests right by the River Avon.
Once inside there is an L shaped room with the bar to the front right,there is an open kitchen to the right just past the bar,the floor is bare boarded.
The rear area is down steps,the tables here are laid out for diners.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Youngs Bitter,which was a decent drink,the other real ale was Youngs Special.
There are good views of the River Avon,background music was playing.
The pub was almost empty on my early Saturday evening visit.

A long established pub / restaurant in a prime spot overlooking the river, I’ve eaten here a couple of times previously but have never added it to this site as I’d always thought of it as more of a restaurant. On hearing that it had recently been bought by Young’s and re-opened after a three week refurbishment with an expanded range of draught drinks, I decided that it was finally time to add it and pay it another visit to see how it’s changed.
It’s split over two floors, and a sign inside the door directs you upstairs to the restaurant or the ground floor for the bar. Beyond this is a narrow room with a bar counter on the left. Décor wise it’s very contemporary with sandy coloured tiling on the floor and limited seating with just a few bar stools and a small shelf opposite the bar counter. Service seemed slow and chaotic and I was waiting for quite some time before being told that they don’t really do bar service and would I like to go and sit at a table. Now, I’ve got several issues with this. Firstly, why wasn’t I told as soon as I got there? Secondly, why isn’t there signage making this clear? Thirdly, why were other punters served at the bar before me? And lastly, why have a bar counter if you can’t use it! Fortunately I managed to convince the barman to see the error of his ways, which was just as well as table service seemed to be equally slow. One guy was waiting about 20 minutes only to be told that they didn’t have what he’d ordered. Beyond this it opens out in to a split level area that is still quite contemporary with a wood strip floor, comfy sofas and large floor to ceiling windows to make the most of the great views. Beyond this again was a good sized cobbled terrace that actually protrudes out in to the river.
Despite the allegedly expanded draught offering, the only beers on tap were Young’s Bitter and Young’s Special. The solitary cider was Orchard Pig Reveller. A board next to the bar listed six or seven craft ales, including three from Meantime, but from looking at the menu on the table I got the impression that these were bottled rather than on tap. Prices seemed expensive with a pint and a G&T coming in at £11.20. Overall, whilst this is certainly a pleasant spot to sup a pint by the water on a sunny afternoon, I can see little other reason to come here when there are far better pubs in the vicinity.
