ROB Camra left this review about Cooper Hall

A massive cellar bar on the Southern edge of the Northern Quarter. It's rather like a bierkeller in style with lots of long tables and some comfy seating around the sides. Its main selling point is that it sells Pilsner Urquell from a tank. It isn't a USP as Alberts Schloss did it first. I called in early on a Friday evening and it was busy and buzzy, although not totally rammed. The barstaff were friendly and efficient and the Pilsner was a little cheaper than Alberts, but not by much, so it's still very expensive at £4.80 per pint. If it had been empty, it would have been dreary as there's not much decoration around the place apart from mirrors and the floor is a mess. There was a DJ playing music at a sensible volume and there's live music on a Saturday night. Yet another decent addition to the Manchester bar scene.
