Small single room with a corner counter. You may say micro in terms of size but the seven keg taps, canned music and shelves of spirits say not a micro pub in the orthodox sense. What Pub says there’s a lounge upstairs, I didn’t check. Two pulls, one with a Copper Dragon beer the other a house beer from Bone Idle Brewery, located behind the pub - not the best micro brewery beer I’ve tasted. It looks like there’s a Jägerbomb machine on the counter. Banquette seating all round at thin tables in the “Edinburgh” style. Industrial style fittings with decorative bits and bobs from its previous existence as an actual draper’s shop. The sound track was “So Lonely” duetted with, I think, Orville the Duck, followed by some Ibiza dance music - I’d rather have Adele thanks. I do see where Ray is coming from with this one though.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Idle Draper

I have more negatives than positives about this micro. The first one was they had Adele squawking away through their speaker system on our arrival, plus the main room with bar area was too hot in temperature. Three handpumps on the bar with two of their own beers, Drapers Cascade and Drapers Gold, which are brewed out in the back, both of which were awful, plus one of them was on the turn.

Have been a couple of times since it opened. It doesn't open until 4pm in the week, so watch out if you are planning a lunch time visit. Three hand pumps for real ale at the bar, on my last visit there was Iceberg by Titanic, something from Moorehouse's, and another I can't remember. The Iceberg was £3 a pint and slipped down nicely.
