ROB Camra left this review about Cave Du Cochon
This is a small, high class wine bar owned by the same guys who have Le Cochon Aveugle restaurant where the Table D'Hote menu starts at £50. So you know it's not going to be cheap. We had been talking to one of the barstaff in the Falcon Tap the night before, so we decided to have a look. It's quite small, but nicely decorated downstairs and there's also an upstairs area. There's a blackboard menu to the right with the dining options which includes their homemade pork scratchings with their homemade apple sauce. We were give a complimentary plate of these when we ordered a second round. Very good they were too. They do sell bottles of beer, but that isn't the main draw here. We ordered our wines from fairly small, but select list and started chatting to the barstaff and another couple who were in the bar. One thing led to another and we had a second round. Two glasses of wine each came to £29, but they were very good wines. We'll probably call in again next time we're in York.
