Will Larter left this review about Maison Tap

An interesting bottle shop with bar attached. The bar is particularly un-barlike, with some cider taps poking out of one wall and beer taps from another. All keg, and the half that I had was so cold I left it on the table and went browsing for some bottles to take home. When I got back it was still too cold to drink, despite the radiator behind the bench belting out the heat. Eventually my half of Vibrant Forest Cydonia 4.7% turned into something drinkable, but the two halves we had between us (the other was a "bacon and ice cream porter") came to over £5, which is not a price that is normally seen in Barnsley. Service was very friendly and welcoming (this is Yorkshire, after all) and some attempt has been made to make a publike room (with another one in preparation, according to a notice on the door), but I can't see me coming back here to pay over the odds for keg beer. (The heritage centre is worth a visit, and if you're coming just for the beer after most of the centre has closed, check out the directions on the Maison's website.)

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Maison Tap

Recently opened craft beer micro-pub attached to a bottle shop in the heritage centre formed from the ex-colliery workshops. Very basic wooden furniture and decor limited to fancy filament bulbs. Seven keg beers on tap, ranging from the unfined Redchurch Paradise Pale (£3.20, and very tasty for its 3.7% strength) to the imported Kasteel Rouge 8% cherry beer.
