If you're intending to visit here on a Friday, this micropub opens at 4pm, and not 3pm as it says in their advert in Ale Cry the local beer magazine, and Whatpub are also wrong. No problem there, as the Dog at the top of the town was an excellent pub to wait an hour in.
We met the owner on our visit and her name was Peace, who was chatty and controlled most of the conversation. She explained that she was from the States, worked in London and also learned about cask beers from her time at the Beer Engine in Skipton. I said 'Wow oh shit man! what a small world, I know the guy who manages the Beer Engine as he used to run the Freshfield Arms in Formby'. Then she lit on me stating 'I don't tolerate bad language in my pub, there is a no swearing rule in here', and there was a list over on the far wall, with other numerous stipulations she had drawn up. I apologised and then she said 'Are you going to pay for those drinks?'. That really got my goat up, and staying for another beer in here was now certainly out of the question.
The colour scheme was lime green walls and was similar to Shrek's front room. The hand basin was in front of the toilet door, so you were on full view from the rest of the pub, and for Madam to see if you have washed your hands. The pub was very busy on our visit and mentioning the place to other locals in Goosnargh, they said they avoid the place, because of her domineering attitude. Her customer base on Facebook seems to be Millennials and Snowflakes. I went for the Avid Brewing Co Golden Ale which was very good, it was just in the wrong place. My rating is minus ten.

An excellent little micro. As you would expect it is only a small room and has limited seating. A very friendly and knowledgeable lady behind the bar made for a pleasant experience. There are 5 handpumps on the bar and today's selection was Phoenix Spotland, Beer Bros' True Brit and IPA, Crankshaft Tiger Club and Northern Whisper Beltie. A place that's well worth a visit if you're in this part of the world.
