I really enjoyed our visit here. There were 5 beers on and a large choice of bottles and cans. The barmaid was really friendly and helpful - one of our party was looking for a milk stout and she showed him the choice of cans. I went for a 5.2% IPA from Wildcard brewery which was excellent. We also tried the 9.9% DIPA from Gipsy Hill which was surprisingly drinkable. I would happily call again if I am back in the area.

A former bookshop converted into a micro of sorts. The single room is wood floored and has basic wooden furniture. Beer is fed into 4 pressure pumps behind the bar, while there is a huge selection of bottled and canned ales, a mix of British and foreign beers, on shelves on the 2 longitudinal walls, mixed in with a variety of ciders, wines and soft drinks. The barman seemed a bit clueless, but the regulars were very welcoming indeed – they were all in that age group that is too old to rock and roll, too young to die, hence being here rather than the '60s party at the Oddfellows or the funeral parlour down the road. The four beers on draft were all strong, 5%ABV was the weakest while the top one was 9%, no real session beer which was one disadvantage. Another issue is the prices – well over £5 a pint, excessive even by London standards. Having said that, the pints of Weird Beard Mariana Trench and an IPA I had were rather enjoyable. It was a pleasant experience, and I'd come back for a beer or two if passing, but it's not somewhere I'd seek too often.
