Graham Coombs left this review about The Fat Abbott

The adjacent Parsonage Hotel built this, its own free-standing pub restaurant in 2015. Sympathetically designed externally to fit in, the clean, modern interior has a central hexagonal bar with a pleasant drinking area opening out onto a patio. Behind the bar is an informal restaurant area, with a more formal room to the front. Some nice design with overhead open beams doesn't prevent the overall feel being a bit too clinical, more like a hotel bar than a pub. Draught beers at time of visit were Black Sheep, GK Abbot and two from York Brewery. Nice enough but needs character.
