David Ross left this review about The Ski-ing Doo and Doo Below

For anyone of a non-Scottish persuasion, it might be worth explaining that "Doo" is a corruption of the Gaelic word dubh, meaning pigeon, and a skean dhu is a ceremonial dagger stuck into the stocking as part of traditional Highland costume. The name is therefore a play on words between the two, hence the pub sign of a pigeon ski-ing.
The establishment itself is on two levels, with a restaurant at street level and a bar, the Doo Below, in the basement. I had a decent, moderately priced meal in the restaurant early in the evening, but when I returned around 10 o'clock, hoping to get a pint in the bar, both sections had just closed, despite it being a Saturday night. So, if you're going there, go earlier.
