Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Old Fire Station

You'll know what to expect about the building from the name, but this is an interesting spot which is put to a variety of food and drink related uses with different events and 'pop up' residencies being held each month. For example, it has just hosted the regional heats of the National Board Game Championships and a special Mothers' Day coffee afternoon. However, for much of the time, it operates as a fairly conventional bar / café. The furniture is mostly long rustic wooden tables, and the decor a mix of arty modern pictures and some memorabilia related to the place's original use. Also has a couple of small tables out in the yard. Four of eight keg taps on the bar-back were in use when I visited, from which I went for the Old Dairy Silver Top (4.00), with a 'house' NZ Pale Ale, Curious Brew and Kozel also noted. Bottled products include the local Turner's cider.
