Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Miners Return

Community micro-pub in the former Kimberley Miners Welfare building, with relatively modern furniture and decor in what otherwise appears to be a typical ex-shop unit. Understandably, there is also a collection of mining history memorabilia, but I didn't get the chance to have a proper look around as the place was very busy on a Thursday evening. I also didn't see what was on the various handpumps on two sides of the counter, but four cask beers with LocAle accreditation were available, and my pint of porter was in great shape whatever it was!

One room with bar to the right. Six hand pumps with a decent selection of ales. Would return to this one.

This micropub is situated in part of the old Miner's Social Club. It has a fairly extensive seating area on the other side of the off road drive that it is situated on. Inside it.s a fairly typical rectangular room with the bar counter on the right at the rear. There is miner's bric-a-brac around the place and the seating is predominately low. I did notice that there were a couple of keg options on the bar. There was no TV or music.
Four beers were available, Tollgate California Steam & Old Rasputin Stout, Charnwood APA and Lincoln Green Hood. I went for the Charnwood APA (£3.00) which was in good nick. I thought this was another good micropub in this area.

Four ales and three ciders on handpump. I went for the Slaters Top Totty, which was superb, whilst Mrs A went for the Lincoln Green Archer. The pub has lots of mining memorabilia, a selection of beer tankards displayed along the wall near the front of the pub, there was also lots of hops hanging over the bar area. A darts board could be found near the entrance to the loos. So I had to do some careful manoeuvring when exiting the loos, as one of the players could hardly hit the board. The bar counter was painted T&G with a pine counter. The walls were wallpapered in a brick effect and the floor was tiled throughout.

The Miners Return Is a new Micro pub that opened only a few months ago in the premises of the old Miners Welfare club (hence the name). Very small in size the pub is one long oblong shaped room with a long bar running down most of the right hand side with tables and chairs dotted around it. The decor is very minimal and rather plain and there are hard wood floors. They have some nice pictures and shrines dedicated to the old building which gives a nice touch. The Landlord and lady were very chatty and super welcoming on our Saturday evening visit and even gave us complementary sausage rolls because we were starving and they had stopped selling food, try getting that sort of service in a Weatherspoon’s! As you would expect there is a really good choice of bee on in here with all the hand pulls in operation and dispensing Lincoln Green Archer, Old Searly Jobber £3, magpie Raven Stout, plus two others and a cider. The Jobber was in great nick and a good price at £3 and flew down. The pub was unfortunately empty on a Saturday evening which was a shame as the other new micro pub was heaving. This places struggles with limited space and a bit of a bland decor meaning the pub is quite cold and lifeless, especially when not full which is a real shame as it has the potential to be a top micro pub. Hopefully my visit was a one off and they can build the trade and have it heaving with customers as this would greatly improve the ambiance of the place. Still good pub for a pint and I will be calling again if around the area.

The Miners return is a fairly new micro pub that is set in a small row of shops with a convenience store one side and a chip shop the other.
Once inside there is an oblong shaped room which runs to the rear, the bar is on the mid right side, the floor is tiled, the seating small tables and chairs and pew seats and chairs.
There were four real ales on the bar and one real cider,i had a drink of Magpie Thieving Rouge, which went down very well, the other beers were Dancing Duck Quack Addict,Derby Kolsch-ish and Totally Brewed Pappa Jangles Voodoo Stout.
Background music was playing.
I really liked this micro pub,one i could stay in for a session.
