An interesting cafe bar with six pulls, only four in use, and an elaborate range of decent kegs. Oddly the cask range includes Theakstons Best and sadly the default glass for what they would undoubtably call "ales" is the bloody awful dimpled mug. the clientele was largely middle aged although there were a few younger people and there was the obligatory hipster behind the counter. Enough with the grumpy old man stuff, it is a different kind of place and it sells a range of well kept interesting beers and food including oysters at around £2.50 each or a half dozen at around £12.50 depending on what they are drenched in. There is pump clip decor including local favorites such as Roosters, Kirkstall, Brass Castle and Great Heck as well as some from a bit further afield, Marble and Gun for example. An interesting feature is a book shelf of beermats rather than the arty piles, novelty holders or complete lack of, found in similar bars. It's some kind of shop conversion but not a long thin one being rather more square , there's exposed brick, of course, a brushed steel counter front but no grey paint or Edison bulbs. Most of the punters were enjoying some of the wide range of coffees on my Saturday afternoon visit but I would like to see it in the evening when it might be a little livelier.

The Stew& Oyster is a new addition to Boston Spa's drinking scene,it is situated in the middle of Boston Spa.
Once inside there is a single room which is roughly oblong shaped,it is bare boarded and the bar is on the left side, there are large puff seats and tables to the front right and normal tables and chairs to the front left, there are three tall tables and chairs opposite the bar,the rear area has more normal tables and chairs.
There was a good choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Thornebridge Lord Marples which went down very well, the other real ales were Thornebridge Hopton,Roosters Fort Smith,Fyne Ales Maverick,Stew & Oyster Two Up & Two Down and Theakston XB.
Food was being served and the background music was decent.
A very pleasant place to have a drink,it was also very busy on my Saturday afternoon visit.
