A quaint little micro next to the train station. A single room with a variety of pictures and paintings on the walls which, if you're so inclined, you can buy. The small bar has 3 handpumps with beers from Red Star and Parker being available today. Nice enough.

This new micropub close to Freshfield train station has been open for three weeks now. This former newsagents consists of one good sized room with separate toilets at the back. The main room has oak board floors, an ornate solid oak bar, original church pews for seating at the front and along the right hand wall. There were a couple of sofas along the back wall and the walls were in cream and the woodwork was painted a deep green to match the signage outside.
Three handpumps on the bar with two in operation, offering up Rock the Boat Waterloo Sunset and Red Star Formby Blonde. I went for the Formby Blonde, which was excellent. They also had a choice of three craft lagers and a good range of bottled ciders.
Train times to Liverpool and Southport are printed on a notice, which can be seen on the wall near the entrance and if you missed one, they run at 15 min intervals, which is handy.
