Called into this pub which features in the 2019 Good Beer Guide while on a pub tour of Gwent. Difficult to give an opinion as it was extremely noisy and extremely rammed with Rugby being shown on screens so very difficult to see what was available to choose. There was a Thornbridge Rocky Road Lucaria and a lot of the normal Tiny Rebel range on cask. There were 2 of their Milkshake beers, Citra and Mango and we chose a Mango one which was fine.

Brew Dog like industrial space but with very good real ale, plenty of opening to the street giving lots of light

Tiny Rebel's second pub in their home town was something of a breath of fresh air after the poor JDWs. I entered to find a Wales rugby match going on so it was dark for the TV projector screen at the other end of the rectangular room.
In the relative darkness I noted eight hand pumps with four or five Tiny Rebel brews and also Mallinson's on one clip with one line being cleaned.
Things improved when the rugby finished and the lights came on but I had ordered my pint of their Random Number Generator Pale Black IPA (£3.60) which was excellent. I wouldn't call £3.60 a "sensible" price especially in South Wales so only stayed for one.
It's an interesting place but for me it was overly expensive.

Tiny Rebel’s second outlet at the base of what looks like a 1950’s building, quite attractive. Whilst the interior style is similar to their Cardiff outlet it is less grubby-feeling and more obviously ‘new’. Grey floor, wood bar front (with coat hooks, nice touch), Tiny Rebel house-style graffiti walls, red and grey metal chairs and exposed aircon. Downstairs lounge with cellar views. Overloud music. Eight pumps; 2x ciders, 1x ‘in cleaning’, 2x Tiny Rebel (Cwtch and Cereal Killer) and 3x guests - BBF Seven and Enigma, Burning Sky Plateau. Went for halves of Cwtch and Plateau and both were in good order, though noted that the southern ales are sparklered by default. BBF Enigma advertised as ‘cask of the day’ and was retailing for a wallet-friendly £2.90, perhaps a nod to the realities of being in central Newport. Also the usual ‘craft’ keg and bottle options. It lacks the charm of their Cardiff outlet but the beer and sensible prices mean it’s an essential Newport visit for the ale drinker.
