Komakino . left this review about The Lamb Inn
Hidden away well off the busy A420 in the twee village of Buckland, The Lamb has its foot firmly set in the food camp. A square building, entered from the gravelled car park, you immediately feel as if you've walked into someone's house, due to the entrance hall feel of the surroundings. Walking ahead, you eventually come to the main bar area, a rectangular room with the small bar in front to the right (the end of the rectangle extends forward from the bar, parallel to the entrance hall and hidden from it by a wall - all dark wooden-beamed). There's a largish table and some barstools at the bar itself which are the only concessions to drinkers - the remaining tables in the bar area are all set out for dining. An open doorway to the left of the bar leads to a largish restaurant area which juts itself out to the left. All very light, bright and airy and plenty of plummy accents to boot. Couple of ales - Loose Cannon Gunner's Gold (decent) and Flying Monk Habit (OK) both at £1.75 a half. Not massively impressive, especially with the lack of seating for those there just for a drink, but service was friendly enough, the ale selection was pleasing and there was no truck with me sitting at a laid-out table, so bumped up from a potential middle-of-the-road 5 to a 6.
