Real Ale Ray left this review about Banyan

A new city bar, positioned in a prime spot on City Square. Once through the main entrance, you are met and greeted with a 'High Guys' from the floor manager who enquires whether you are dining with them this evening or going to the bar.
The interior consists of one large space with a raised seating area over on the right, with a rather nice patterned oak block floor and a few chesterfield settees. The main bar is over on the left, which is quite long and had a large plasma screen on the back wall. No handpumps at the bar, so went for an Irish craft beer on keg named Franciscan Well Chieftain IPA, which was excellent and full of flavour. There were also lots of cocktail menus on tables and a good few people in for a bite to eat.
